Cwmcarn Forest Drive
The Cwmcarn Forest Drive is a 7-mile scenic route through the hills and mountains. It is a forestry commission area that can be explored by car, walking or by bike. (Cost for entry is around £3.00 per car but on foot is free).
Walking – easy walks around the lake and by the canal, for the more vigorous there is Twmbarlmw Hill Fort for fantastic views.Children – Play areas woodland carvings and bar-b-q areasCycling – Cwmcarn has it’s own cycle trails. “Y Mynydd Mojo” forexperienced riders only and “Twrch”.

Canal Path – a lovely paved walk, suitable for wheelchairs and excellent to ride your bike and stretches for about 5 miles. Also, plenty of pubs you could stop at during the walk or ride.Ash Path – after going down a hill to the children’s play area the ash path is a paved walk that is only on a slight incline that will take you up to the forest drive. Walking takes about 20 minutes to reach the forest drive café and 30 minutes to reach the lake shown below.Twmbarlwm Walk - experience views from Bristol to the Black Mountains from the top of the Twmbarlwm Walk.
